MAT Exam 2022: Check MAT October CBT, PBT, IBT Dates, Registration, Syllabus, Pattern, Results

MAT 2022 examwill be conducted on October 8 and 10 in IBT mode. Registration for the same is underway. Candidates who wish to appear for the MAT in IBT mode can register by October 5 and October 7. These are two special drive IBT exams being conducted by AIMA. The next phase of MAT 2022 will bbe held in December, registrations for which will start by the end of Octoer. 

What is MAT Exam?

Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses. The exam is conducted multiple times a year in four phases – February, May, September and December. Qualifying candidates are eligible for admissions to 800+ B-schools accepting MAT scores

MAT exam is conducted in offline (Paper Based Test or PBT), online (Computer Based Test or CBT) and remote proctored (Internet Based Test or IBT) modes. Candidates can choose to appear in the exam in any mode as per their preference. Fees, exam pattern and syllabus for all three modes are same but admit card download and exam dates are different. 

Candidates can take MAT exam as:

  • Paper Based Test (PBT) or

MAT Results 2022 (September Phase)

  • MAT results for all the three modes are available for September 2022 session. The MAT scorecards are released on the AIMA website and the test takers can download their respective results by using their login credentials. Given below are the steps to follow, to download MAT result 2022

MAT Eligibility Criteria

Given below is the basic eligibility criteria for MAT exam:

  • Candidates should have completed graduation in any discipline or equivalent from a recognised university

  • Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply for MAT
  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CACS or ICWA are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam



MAT Registration 2022

The MAT application process is same for all the three exam modes – PBT, CBT and IBT. The application form filling is an online process. Candidates can fill the MAT application form 2022 of preferred exam phase on AIMA MAT exam website by paying exam fees of INR 1,850. Check below the process to apply for MAT:
  • Open AIMA-MAT website in a new browser
  • Click on “Fresh Candidate to create Log In” tab: https://mat.aima.in/sep22/register-online
  • Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number and a password
  • Fill the MAT exam application form with relevant information
  • Select preferred test mode (CBT, PBT, IBT), test cities and five B-Schools
  • Upload a recent passport size photo and scanned signature
  • Make fee payment via debit/credit card, net banking or e-wallet to complete the process

MAT Admit Card 2022

MAT admit card download process for October IBT will start on October 6. The MAT admit cards will be available for download on the official website. In order to download the hall ticket, candidates need to key in the registration number and date of birth on the login page of AIMA-MAT website. Given below are the steps to download MAT admit card:

  • Open the MAT 2022 website
  • Go to ‘download/view’
  • Select ‘ MAT admit card’ from the drop down
  • Enter email ID, password and date of birth
  • Download the MAT admit card 

MAT Exam Day Guidelines

  • For MAT IBT mode, candidates should arrange a laptop/desktop and check internet connection at least one hour before the exam timing.
  • For MAT IBT mode, candidates should wear formal clothes and keep the admit card and other documents ready for remote verification process.
  • MAT PBT and CBT are conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates have to report to the exam centre by 8:30 AM.
  • Candidates should carry a blue or black ball point pen if they are taking the exam in PBT mode.

  • Phone, calculator, electronic watch or any such item is prohibited at the exam centre hence, candidates must ensure they don’t carry any such item on exam day.

  • Digital or photocopy of the MAT admit card will not be considered a valid ID proof so carry the original copy of your admit card.

  • Also carry below-mentioned documents to the MAT exam centre for PBT and CBT mode exams:

    • Admit card: Two printouts

    • Self-declaration for COVID-19: Attached with admit card
    • Identity proof: Any of the following documents (in original) — Voter ID, Aadhaar Card, Election I-Card, Passport, Driving License and PAN Card

    • Proof of name change (if any): In case, you have changed your name, you will be required to carry a document supporting the change of name

    • Caste certificate (if applicable): If you belong to SC/ST/OBC category, you are required to carry caste certificate

MAT Syllabus 2022

Like last year, CAT 2022 exam will be conducted by following COVID-19 guidelines. Read below documents to carry and items prohibited at the CAT 2022 exam centre.

Documents to carry

Candidates appearing for the exam must carry the following documents to the CAT exam centre to get entry inside the exam hall: 

  • Admit card: Candidates appearing for the CAT 2022 exam must carry two print outs of their admit cards with their photo affixed on it. Entry without admit card and photo ID will not be permitted. 
  • Identity Proof: Along with the admit card, candidates are required to carry a photo ID proof such as College ID (must be supported with a valid debit/credit card), employer ID, driving license, passport, PAN card, Voter ID or Aadhaar card
  • Name change document: In case a candidate changed their name, they will be required to carry a name change certificate/document

Items prohibited inside the CAT 2022 exam hall:

  • Calculator, watch, phone, iPad or any other electronic item
  • Bags and purses
  • Eatables and beverages
  • Jewellery and accessories that contain metal
  • Jackets and clothes with pockets
  • Closed footwear 

Note: Candidates with a metal implant, pacemaker, etc. in their body will be required to bring medical certificate of the same to the test centre.
